Ibuki Kaiyama
Ibuki Handcraft is a beautiful collection of wooden spoons crafted using tree branches keeping the original shapes and characteristics of each wood so that each spoons are different to others. Using locally homegrown and harvested wood, the Nagano based wood artist and designer Ibuki Kaiyama of Atelier hi creates precious pieces of artisan spoons making distorted shapes and knots of the branches as part of art.
All of the Ibuki Handcraft branch spoons are carved using natural wood found in homegrown trees and created with the Greenwood technique, finished with oil for longer lasting.
The artist uses natural resources found and fallen from various trees. By using these resources, he is creating art leaving no waste or chemicals for earth. His art is tests how artwork can be created from the most natural sources Earth provides.
Since this product is made of 100% natural material, therefore it can have dents or scratches. The imperfections of wood is what each piece unique!
After use, wash with cold or warm water with a soft sponge, dry with dry cloth, and let it dry well in the shade. Not suitable for dishwasher use. It is best not to leave the wood wet. If the wood starts to feel dry, lightly sand that surface with fine sandpaper (400 grit), and rub drying oil with soft cloth and let it dry.
