These mugs are very iconic such as delft ware with different brush strokes and squiggles created by the maker, with an intention that everyone will see something different and will have a different association to the patterns (for instance sea waves, clouds, dragon.. etc).
Juliette Swindells
Specialising in wheel-thrown tableware, Juliette started her ceramic journey in 2020, back when ceramic studio was one of the only places open during the pandemic. She draws inspiration from the natural world, where her work is characterized by intricate surface decoration, techniques, including sgraffito, inlay, slip decoration, and blending traditional craftmanship with modern whimsical designs. Juliette's designs are deeply influenced by the time she spent in Cornwall, where she found beauty in the landscapes of standing stones and stone walls. When she is not creating her own work, she teaches in various ceramic studios in East London.
What do you like to do when you are not creating?
"In my free time I like to visit exhibitions, escape London and go for a hike when I can and try to go to live music /dj events."
