Based in Los Angeles, Are Studio was founded by designer Cecilia Bordarampe. Her designs are timeless, functional and have a minimal soft aesthetic - each leather hide has a unique imperfection in texture and colors that creates a one-of-a-kind bag for each wearer. All materials and supplies are sourced ethically and locally from family owned manufacturers with minimal waste production. Each piece is a lifetime piece and an individual artwork.
Each of the leather has unique characteristics and can have variations in color, texture, and markings.
Vegetable tanned semi-aniline leather has a smooth finish while retaining the natural grain. It is soft to the touch with a matte finish - this leather will evolve over time with daily use. For care, the maker recommends using a commercial grade protective treatment to avoid general staining of the leather prior to use. Once the bag had been treated, it is easier to maintain a longer term care.
In order to spruce up scuffs and light scratches on the leather, slightly dampen a clean fingertip and gently apply to the marking on the leather, working in a circular motion. When not in use, store your bag in the provided dust bag away from sunlight.
